Bulldogs City Cup winners!

U15s Bulldogs City Cup winners

Our under 15 boys Rugby League team won the Bulldogs City Cup in a gala day tournament recently. Played at the Crest in Bass Hill, these boys represented the school with pride and maturity.

Still on a high after their successful Buckley shield semi final achievement in 2022, our boys could not wait to get a taste of competitive school football again. They came up against Chester Hill High School in the first round, where the boys didn't skip a beat and dominated from the get go. They stuck to their structure and executed some plays, which they have worked on during their training sessions. They proved too strong and won the game 24 nil.

In the second round, Picnic Point High School came into the game with confidence after a dominant victory in their round 1 clash. This game started off in the same fashion, with the boys starting fast and scoring the first two tries, going up 12 nil in the first half. Picnic Point showed great character and fought back, however under 15 boys held their nerves and turned them away on several occasions. The boys grew confidence from holding them out and ran in two more tries to finish this game, resulting in the same score as the first game, 24 nil.

Sir Joseph Banks High School finished on top of their pool, sending them to the Grand Final against the formidable Bass Hill High, who also went through the pool stages underfeated. It was an arm wrestle and a tight battle to start the game, with both forward packs trying to stamp their authority. The boys showed tremendous heart and the will to win. They broke the deadlock and scored the first try. Once the boys got over the line, they had the momentum and were hard to stop for the remainder of the game, securing a 25 nil victory.

It was a tremendous performance and a wonderful achievement for the boys to win the Bulldogs City Cup Rugby League Knockout. The coaching staff and school community are proud of their efforts, as well as the sportsmanship they displayed throughout the day. We wish them the best of luck as they progress through to the Westen Sydney City Cup finals day in St Mary's at the end of this term. Good luck boys!
