Mikhail Kallon, one of our Community Liaison Officers, is the founder and director of The Madiba Project. The Madiba Project is a not for profit charitable organisation based in Australia. It was established to help relieve the poverty of underprivileged communities in Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Sir Joseph Banks High School students are given the opportunity to become involved with the Madiba Project. Through supporting the project, students develop relationship and social skills to become active, responsible members of the wider community and develop a social conscience which lasts into their adult lives. Support ranges from the collection of educational resources and promotion of the program to performing and hosting the annual fund raising concert.
As a school we are very proud to support this important cause.
