Ms Maria Zacharini is the Careers Practitioner at Sir Joseph Banks High School.
Our Careers Practitioner has had in excess of 23+ years of experience in Career Development and Education.
She specialises in transition and future pathways for students in Years 10 and beyond. In particular students between the ages of 15-17 years olds with a focus on the new school leaving age.
Her qualifications include Post Graduate studies in Career Development, Career Education and Counselling & Certificate IV in Career Development services.
Our Careers Practitioner offers support services to our students that are inclusive of:
- Careers Development through fortnightly Careers lessons in Year 10
- Careers resources & information
- Careers Opportunities & Programs (15-17 years)
- Pathways to TAFE, Apprenticeships and Traineeships upon completion of the Year 10 Record of Achievement
- Alternative School Pathways for students at risk of leaving school prior to completion of the Year 10 ROSA
- Careers self-management strategies and goal setting
- Senior patterns of study for suitable ATAR , Non ATAR & Vocational Education & training
- Interviews with parents and students held during subject choice selection evenings for Year 10 students
- TAFE Vet and Private Provider Vet coordination for Years 11 & 12 (Year 10 applications made during Term 2/3)
- School Based Apprenticeships & Traineeships pending on students sourcing suitable employment opportunities or organisations
- Exit Interviews and information sessions for students leaving (15-17 years)
- Parent Interviews via phone & Zoom communication channel
- Parental contact via phone & email
