Every year, teams of Sir Joseph Banks High School students gear up to participate in the FIRST LEGO League where participants come together to innovate and solve problems. Through this program of creativity, collaboration and innovation, students thrive as they focus on real world problems that allow them to understand the importance of building a stronger and more sustainable future. The FIRST LEGO League is a competition which caters for Year 7-9 students. Teams of up to 10 students build, program and compete with a robot and learn about a modern problem.
In 2018 students were challenged by programming an autonomous robot to score points on a themed playing field (Robot Game). In 2019 they had fun with the City Shaper challenge. We look forward to whatever 2020 brings.
