Peer mediation is a student led conflict resolution program. It is a structured process in which trained student peer mediators work with referred students to find shared solutions. Mediations are voluntary and confidential. Mediators do not take sides and are only able to mediate suitable conflicts.
Peer mediation encourages greater social connectedness by empowering students to communicate in a positive, collaborative and effective manner. Students also develop critical thinking and problem solving skills as part of the program. Peer mediation empowers students to succeed and thrive in social settings by enabling them to take greater responsibility for resolving their own disputes.
