On Wednesday the 8th of March the Open Boy's football team took on Bass High School. Despite the recent rains the SJBHS field was in good condition for the match.
Unfortunately, our players were on the back foot early, with a strong Bass team taking an early lead. They added two more quick goals to go 3–0 up within twelve minutes. The SJB players then had a strong ten minute period in which they pulled a goal back through Samir K, hit the crossbar and had another goal disallowed for offside.
The second half saw the visitors get back on top as the SJBHS players were unable to keep possession of the ball for long periods which placed the defence under a lot of pressure by a fitter and more technical Bass Hill side.
Bass Hill capitalised and went 5-1 ahead, before a strong run from George K-M resulted in a penalty, which was put away by Samah A. A late goal to Bass Hill rounded out the 6-2 scoreline.
