Outstanding achievement in HSC Mathematics

SJBHS is pleased to announce that one of our students, Hoang Dang, achieved two outstanding results in the 2022 HSC yesterday.

He achieved 97/100 in Mathematics Advanced and 48/50 for Mathematics Extension 1. 

What makes these results even more remarkable is that Hoang achieved these results whilst only being in Year 11. 

His talent was identified early by his teacher, Belinda Hua, and she nurtured and developed his outstanding ability. The acting Head Teacher of Mathematics, Tim Bird, was informed of his talent and swiftly began the process of enrolling him into the HSC for these two courses.

Deputy Principal, Brett Palmer, commented that "The school is immensely proud of the fact that a student who has been involved in our accelerated program has achieved levels not seen before at SJBHS".

The school is very excited to see how he performs in his remaining HSC courses in 2023.
