Going green with Mr Diakanastasis!

We proudly welcome Mr Diakanastasis to Sir Joseph Banks High School as our Environment Education teacher. Using his prior experience and knowledge as a science teacher, he has begun implementing the Sustainable Garden program at Joey Banks. Mr Diakanastasis runs this program every Wednesday, providing students with the opportunity to develop skills in growing and maintaining vegetable gardens. From this, he hopes to inspire students to become more environmentally conscious.

Mr Diakanastasis’ passion for sustainable practice and wellbeing radiates through his guidance throughout the program. The Sustainable Garden project engages students in developing their confidence and resilience, therefore growing as a person through the idea of mindfulness.
