Student voice is an important part of Project Based Learning. As Partners in Learning, students work with their teachers to program and develop new units of work. They also provide valuable feedback on completed projects and how they like to learn in special focus groups.
Artrepreneurs is an example of PBL. Students not only designed and made artworks, they also acted as entrepreneurs to market and sell them!
The unit of work was based on the art of John Wolseley and inspired by the local environment. Students explored various media to create artworks which they enhanced in Photoshop and turned into art cards. They then marketed their cards with a cool video before setting up a stand at Parent Teacher night to sell them.
Student input into planning is one of the reasons for the amazing success of this unit.
