Year 9 Sky High students visited the Reverse Garbage Centre in Marrickville. The excursion was about getting students to think about rubbish waste and how it could be creatively used to become something completely different. Students were set the challenge of designing and inventing something useful out a heap of rubbish and presenting the idea to the rest of the group. They tackled this sustainability challenge with enthusiasm and their responses were creative, original and inspiring.
Sir Joseph Banks High School is fortunate to enjoy close working relationships with universities and business. UTS Sky High has been running successfully at the school for many years. The opportunities it provides enrich and broaden the learning of participating students.
