Our Year 8 students had the opportunity to attend the innovative Wired for Wonder Youth Summit. Throughout the day, our students had the oppotunity to explore aspects of artificial intelligence, interacting with robots who danced and had conversations with people. They observed 3D printers coming to life, printing with glow in the dark filaments.
The workshops enabled our students to practice and develop their leadership skills and their importance in successful projects. Keynote speakers presented on various topics including climate change, poetry, patience and career choices. Our students were particularly inspired by Solli as he is a young poet who has achieved so many accomplishments despite his age.
The Gut health workshop session taught our students many interesting facts about health and nutrition and how critical it is for success in any aspect of life. The GPS and Sports workshop revealed to students how inctricately detailed and complicated sports science can be, with many tiny factors combining to influence overall sports performance.
Our students discovered how powerful words can be in self-influence and motivation as well as in influencing and motivating other people. This was an incredible experience for our young Year 8 students and one that they will remember for years to come.
