Saturday’s Sydney Morning Herald featured a story on the Power Up program, an innovative literacy strategy that was designed and runs at our school.
Brenda Stajcic, head of teaching and learning, explained why data is collected, how the program is run and reasons for its exceptional success.
Our Power Up initiative has received several state awards for educational excellence due to the amazing literacy growth of students who participate. Ms Stajcic explained that in its first year, average student growth was more than four times expected growth.
Staff and students are passionate about the program and the visible learning strategies involved. They believe the program is making a huge impact on their teaching and learning.
