Taking the step through a door held open can be a daunting moment. Hope and Giovanni both participated in Stories of Strength in 2017 where they were taught how to professionally conduct an interview and edit their collected stories for radio. The enthusiasm and maturity they displayed saw Hope and Giovanni selected from this experience to again take the mic to interview the Minister for Multiculturalism, the Hon. Ray Williams, as part of the COMPACT Summit.
COMPACT stands for Community, in Partnership, taking Action to safeguard Australia’s peaceful and harmonious way of life.
The Multicultural NSW COMPACT supports an alliance of community partners who are committed to addressing and resolving community issues and tensions and safeguarding Australia’s peaceful and harmonious way of life against extremist hate, violence and division.
Hope and Giavanni were professional, engaging and respectful while they asked Minister Williams a series of questions about his childhood, parents, and his dreams.
We received many high praises from the audience about our students and their interview and we are very proud of their achievement!
