Since our SBS Insight episode ‘Teaching Success’ was aired, we’ve had lots of enquiries about our successful teaching and learning programs. Our success is no secret. We routinely share best practIce with learning communities across the NSW, Victoria and Queensland education systems. CESE (Centre for Educational Research and Statistics) has included us in their case study across every school in NSW as an exemplar school in supporting student learning. Our practices are regularly featured on radio, as a podcast and in both local and national newspapers due to their quality and results.
Sir Joseph Banks High School’s educational leaders have presented to school leaders, directors, principals and deputy principals from around NSW. Interest has been so high that in the past fortnight Mel Check, Brenda Stajcic, Souad Khodary and Murray Kitteringham have travelled to Newcastle and the Central Coast to deliver presentations on teaching and learning, literacy and numeracy strategies and student services.
Our presenters really enjoyed their road trip experience. The audience at each venue was highly engaged. They asked many questions and were really interested to learn more.
Sharing best practice is an important way to take best practice to common practice for the benefit of all students across NSW.
