Alongside effective teaching practices, students need a supportive learning environment to succeed. In an education context, advocacy and support for learning refers to the active consideration of, and support for, students' academic and wellbeing needs.
This year, our school was involved in a research project led by the Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) within the NSW Department of Education. The research involved a case study about how our school has created a highly supportive school environment.
The Supporting students' learning case study outlines our school's focus on developing internal and external relationships, establishing proactive support systems and using data to focus school priorities.
