Sir Joseph Banks High School is in the TOP 5 in NSW for student advocacy. YAY!
The Centre for Education Statistics and Evaluation (CESE) has prepared a piece of research on support for learning and what this looks like in schools in NSW, using data from the suite of Tell Them From Me (TTFM) surveys.
Since our students reported feeling more supported and engaged in learning than most other students in the whole of NSW, CESE worked closely with us to report on our programs for the benefit of other schools. They looked at the relationships Sir Joseph Banks High School builds and the teaching, learning and wellbeing programs we implement,
Ian McCarthy, head statistician at CESE, has informed us that their publication is close to completion. The first page of their latest newsletter (pictured above) provides a glimpse at the story to come.
Ian McCarthy said that he was really impressed with the Insight program. He has asked if we are able to do further work with them on the strategies and practices we use to foster such a positive environment in our school. We agreed. We've also agreed to share our many best practice teaching and learning initiatives. We are very proud of the work our extraordinary staff are doing to support and enrich our students' learning and excited to share with schools across NSW.
