Year 5 students from Revesby South took part in our BuzzBots workshop, using a variety of arts and craft materials to design and build their own 3D BuzzBot character. The goal was to write a story about their created character that would be appropriate for young children.
Students wasted no time beginning the construction of their characters. Bright colours, big eyes, whacky hair and crazy designs were the name of the game with the students creating a variety of unique characters ranging from superheroes and monsters to half-scorpion half-spider creatures!

Assistant workshop coordinator Mr Whiting commented positively on the outcome of the workshop:
"It's just awesome to see young students have the opportunity to spend a day thinking creatively and designing their very own character. It engages them in a fun way and they were really enthused about making every little detail perfect. It just shows that when you give students free range with their ideas they can be cleverly innovative."
From inventions to eating fruit and vegetables, there was no stopping the flow of fun ideas when it came to students writing their stories. Many created challenges for their characters to overcome and provided positive morals for their young readers.

After a productive day of designing, constructing and writing, students were presented with BuzzBot certificates to recognise all their awesome work.
