We are very concerned about the number of unauthorised vehicles entering our school. Parents are not allowed to drive into the school grounds unless authorised to do so from the school principal in advance. This would only be granted for special events and for students who have a disability. To ensure our school is as safe as possible, it is extremely important that parents do not enter the school grounds to drop off their children.
Additionally, council workers and police do patrol the front of the school on occasions. I would like to remind the few parents who are seen regularly doing U turns at the front of the school that this is not helpful in ensuring ALL students are safe at the end of the school day. Please drive safely.
In the coming weeks an electronic access gate will be installed on the vehicle and pedestrian access. The school gates will be closed between 9:30am and 2:30pm every day once installed to ensure we can monitor who enters the school grounds during the school day. Our school is already a very safe environment, however parent cooperation in assisting us in this will be most appreciated.
