Background
Significant community consultation was undertaken to introduce an amended school day timetable at the end of 2016. While implementing this change, it was agreed to review the outcomes as part of our standard operational reviews each year.
What are the changes
Start time of the school day remains unchanged.
Pastoral care session will be taught every day. This session will support our Positive Behaviour for Learning and the Choice Theory Positive Psychology model. Students will be received every day by their pastoral care teacher who will be teaching a structured program to observe the above model.
The end of day will be amended to 2:50 on a Tuesday and 3:00pm on Thursday.
Feedback so far
Staff have voted overwhelmingly in support of the change and to teach daily pastoral care classes.
The SJBHS Parents and Citizens were unanimous in their support.
